Setting Up SATA

Are there any guides around to help me to set up my new rig regarding SATA?

Previously always used IDE, and new stuff **** be here monday so wanna know beforehand about setup.

Theres not much to know really, if you're getting a new board then there shouldnt be any drivers to install. And if you're using XP SP1 or 2 then there will be no drive size limit.

So its just a case of plugging in the SATA and it will be recognised?

I dont need to during XP setup install RAID drivers etc from floppies?!

Yeah you should be able to plug the drive in and it will work, what mobo are you getting? The Nforce 4 boards dont need drivers IIRC. AFAIK the RAID floppy disk isnt need either.

Getting the Asus Premium SLi board and a Seagate Barra 200gb SATAII drive.

Yeah it should be fine. There mite be jumpers that you need to change on the drive to enable SATA II mode (if the case it will say on the drive or in manual)
