Howzit guys.

I'm trying to install Windows XP Professional on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1505 laptop. However it keeps telling me there is no hard drive or it can't see the drive.

I have spent the best part of 5 hours now, trying to find the correct SATA driver. I have used drivers off the FSC website as well as Intel's website with no luck. :(

Is anyone able to shed some light on this problem. I really need to get Windows installed on the system.

Any help, would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

That was the first thing I did. However in the Fujitsu Siemens BIOS there is no such option. :(

Thanks for the reply.

When you say you've "used" the drivers, how are you using them?

You need to copy them onto a floppy and press F6 while the Windows disc is loading.

Or just integrate them with nLite.

I have tried both ways of doing it. I am pretty sure I am using the wrong ones.

PeaOn: The BIOS is very limited. The only thing I am able to change is the boot up devices. :(

Thanks for replies guys, much appreciated. :)

I've installed loads of SATA laptops that were sata and not needed to find drivers to see the HD during setup, I always use a SP2 install CD if you dont have a sp'd install cd maybe try and find one...

The laptop already has a copy of Windows XP professional on it. However this copy isn't legitimate. hence a format reinstall of a new copy of windows with a good key. However I am also using Windows XP Professional SP2 cd along with SATA drivers from FSC's website. Which cause a BSOD when it loads them.:(

I tried to used Driver genius, with no luck. It needs a texmode.orm file to read properly off the FDD drive. :(

I cannot believe this is so hard to do!

Once again, I appreciated all the help! :)

problem solved.

I tried the above drivers which didn't work. I then thought, Siemens would not have faulty drivers on their site. So, I redownloaded their drivers and tried a different Windows XP disc. Worked first time. :D

Thanks for all the help guys!

Much appreciated!

Why not? I've seen faulty drivers from both HP and Dell on their sites (the HP example was only two weeks ago). Why not FJS as well?!

Alright bud, take it easy there. ;)

My opinon was based on the fact that I have never seen a faulty driver from their website.

ice on fire.

use this tool to add tons of raid/sata drivers

http://www.msfn.org/board/RAID-Slipstreamer-x86-x64-t85842.html

copy xp disc to C:\xpcd, point that at it and fire away.
then use nlite to create the iso/disc

doesn't include nvidia drivers anymore...

or...
use the BTS driver packs
http://driverpacks.net/

have to read the forum to find out how to use that though
(then use nlite to finalize the disc again)

Once again, bledd useful as ever.

Thanks bud I will check it out as I always have issues with this sort of thing at work.

Much appreciated!

the BTS driver pack is worth doing tbh, you can add all sorts of drivers (lan, audio, gfx) i just use it for sata as the rest are always easy to find
