Currently, I've got a living room set up with an LG OLED55C14LB 55" TV that runs as the 'hub' - the Apple TV, 4k disc player and console are all connected via HDMI to the rear of the TV with a HDMI cable running from TV to my Denon AVR-X2700H

I read somewhere when I bought the TV that this setup works but I've been wondering lately if the devices should go through the AVR to output to the TV

Thanks

E-arc works only issue is whether your TV passes all audio formats.

If it does no problem. There isn't a correct way, but I put all my sources through my AV pre amp.

Only issue I had with E-ARC is losing OSD of the av pre displaying on the TV, I need to switch to another HDMI input from the AV pre.

Most important settings would be correct room calibration procedure, crossover setting (speakers set to small 80hz) using room eq app to set midrange compensation to about 300hz, having a room that it at least ok acoustically , Ie not in a bathroom. Also speakers and sub in good position.

Thanks - I thought that would make more sense and would make me happier

I've got Q Acoustic 3050 at the front with Polk Audio Monitor XT90 atmos (I got them on offer and made the most of cables that were already there), Q Acoustic 3020 at the rear, a 3090 for the centre with a svs sb 1000 pro for the sub

In a pretty good room, TV central on one wall with the speakers in each corner

Ensure you set crossover setttings. Disable the subs own crossover, do the Denon AVR auto setup for levels/distance/correction, then manually change speaker crossover. Set 80hz for all the speakers, 120 for the subwoofer low pass. Try the three EQ settings, flat, reference and the other one

Would recommend getting the room EQ app for your denon, and set midrange compensation to 200-300hz

I have used the tool to set up the levels and have the app. I changed the centre and forward levels as they felt quiet

Will have a check on the crossovers, below its all set to default but will try changing and see how it performs

I found it sets crossovers incorrectly, so good idea to change manually, it'll probably set your speakers to full range (large) do not set them to this. You can get away with using "pure direct" or direct when listening to CD music, so your mains are full range and your sub is off, but don't do this for movies- use bass management for movies.
