i uninstalled my drivers on my ati hd 4850 to put newer ones on ... i get a message with severe in the title box and the message
"Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit."

i have the right drivers and now even trying to install older drivers i get the same message.

any ideas?

Loadsa, driver sweeper can cause these issues you know? Or is that you're you're asking?

I've found it's more trouble than its worth most of the time really.

I used driversweeper after many people saying how great it was, it ended up deleting my in use gpu drivers and it was suffice to say an interesting experience to get things back working.

I would just recommend downloading the latest ATi drivers, using the in-built uninstall within the drivers, restart pc then install using the latest dled drivers, should sort things out.

i didn't use driver sweeper or anything i just uninstalled the old ones and tried installing the new ones, i don't know if it's related but just checking the temps on my gpu they are now around 70-80 and before all this happened im sure they were around 50

I have tried driver cleaner or something going by a similar name once just out of curiosity, had no problems but decided to go back to my usual method, as above.:)

Yeah what i was asking, as thats a common problem after using Driver Sweeper, sometimes doesn't clean properly, so no drivers at all will install after using it, and only fix i found for it was a full re-install of Windass. :)

All i do now is go to Programs/features, then run the ATi Install Manager from there to uninstall them, then after the restart install the new, or you can just install over the top, as im sure it will automatically uninstall your old ones first before installing the new's.
