Just set up my new PC. Installed SF4, plugged in TE stick and a message popped up in the corner saying USB device found, everything seemed to get installed just fine yet when I start up SF4 the stick is not responding.

I'm sure it was a simple plug in job last time, what can I be doing wrong?

I can't play SF4 atm :eek::( help!

Check device manager see if it's showing up in there okay?

If it the 360 version maybe you could try installing the Xbox360 Accessories drivers separately although I thought that shouldn't be necessary with win7.

Its the PS3 version and its showing up in control panel as PC USB wired stick 8838.

It's really strange because I was using Win 7 previously and it was a simple case of plug and play. I plug it in, it detects and seems to install fine but when I boot up SF4 no buttons are working and it defaults to the keyboard.

Hmmm, if you go into the game controllers section of the control panel, does it show up and register button presses?

It shows up but doesn't register button presses.

Edit: Seems the link that maddness provided has the exact same problem as me. Stick is seen fine in windows, yet no buttons register. I need one of them PCI card thingys by the looks of it. Annoyed!

yes this is the same problem with mine, fortunatly i can get one for 8-9 quid. Not expensive, but annoying

I wasn't looking to spend over a fiver tbh.

USB2.0 4 Port PCI Controller Card - £4.59

This can be had locally, I might pick it up tomorrow and see if it works, but I've got a funny feeling it won't after just reading some of the comments on the site I found it just below the item. =/

Are you plugging the stick directly into USB ports on your PC or using the USB hub on your Dell monitor? I found that the hub on my Dell 2407 exhibited the same problem you have but when I plugged the stick directly into the PC itself it worked fine.

Try diff usb ports on the premise that u have just tried the one. Also check bios see if its set at proper speed 2.0 speed i mean incase it aint. I know this is probs stupid simple stuff but i duno what u tried so just putting it out there.

And maybe find unofficial driver or a stick universal driver or somit?

As there are 14 USB ports supported on your Mobo is there a chance they arent all supported by the same controller? Might be worth checking one per controller to see if that works - double check the manual if its lists any additional controllers...

ps3ud0

If you read that thread carefully then you have to make sure the chipset is one of two makers, VIA or Intel i believe, otherwise you'll be back to square one and a little out of pocket

This is what I had to do, bought a PCI USB card with Via chipset and now PS3 TE stick works perfectly.

Just bought the cheapest PCI card that I could find which actually said 'VIA chipset' in the description. Cost me £6.88 from a local store and the TE stick is now... WORKING! :D

Glad that's sorted but what a pain though, damn PS3 sticks.
