Guys can any of you help me with this problem , yesterday i had a virus on my pc "anti virus suite" basically it wouldnt let me open any program unless i bought the dodgy program.

Well i got it off with some malware removal tool but now i cannot connect to live in sf4

Also msn refuses to login, has the malware tool changed some settings ?

Any help much appriciated :)

Did it change your clock? whenveer i have a problem with live its the time not being right.

To add to this, you may have to go through the clock options to sync your clock with internet time.

You should be getting some kind of error message when you can't log in. What is it?

Other things to do include setting Internet Options > security to medium and setting all IE settings back to default, delete cookies / history.

Further is to make sure UPnP is enabled on your router OR set up port forwarding.

GFWL live forum has a lot of people with these issues and yours sounds like a common complaint. My own account got royally fubar'd, couldn't log in to any apps but the live account was fine with xbox live / hotmai etcl. Their tech support in europe had to have my account problem escalated to their developers to fix (in Redmond I assumed), took weeks but it works

I had GFWL problems if I tried to login manually, it simply wouldn't connect ! yet with DoW II on steam it auto logs into my GFWL account to access saves and such which I found annoying and strange. Checking the forums its a problem with the GFW software and possible port access so have a read through the help on the official site.

Guys i have tried all the things you have listed but still nothing

My internet works fine with Firefox3 but Ie8 i get the error Ie cannot display the webpage.

The only thing i have done is remove the virus "Antivirus suite" it told me to do this:

* Now click on the Connections tab and then the Lan Settings button
* Under the Proxy Server section, please uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN.
* Click the OK button to close this screen. Then press the Apply button and then the OK button to close the Internet Options screen. Now that you have disabled the proxy server you will be able to browse the web again with Internet Explorer.

I have reticked the box but still not working ?

:(
