First of all what game are you talking about ? and 2nd of all i highly doult it.

If its Splinter Cell Double Agent then theres no way to make it work as it requires a shader model 3 capable card, which is only the Nvidia 6 series cards and up, and ATi's x1k series. :)

Splinter Cell Double Agent is the only game that must have a shader model 3 card, others will just use SM2.0 which your card has.

yep and i told everyone about this in the first place when battlefield 2 came out and rendered gf4 cards useless.
thats why i told everyone to get a 6800 over a x8** card due to lack of shader model 3.0. but everyone said its a load of bull and no game will ever soley require sm3.0 but then look what happens?

those guys who said said sm3.0 is not needed are now no-where to be found. or they have re registered on this forum using a different name.

real funny how a gf6200 can run games that a x850xtpe gangster edition can;t :D :D :D

How has this got anything to do with the thread? The op is running a 9600 card, and has probably had it for generations.

were you the guy who was asking if a monitor needs to pass shader model 3.0 certification? ;)

Yeah, one game comes out that requires it on the dawn of DirectX 10. Huge uptake that was, how did I ever live without it. Not to mention that it probably could've been done in shader model 2.0 just like the other Splinter Cell games.

Why was the card bought by great great grandfather fantauk and lovingly passed down through the generations? that IS an old card :p :D

i said the same thing about battlefield 2 and gf4 cards. but its not gonna make any difference. the game needs sm3.0 and if you don;t have it then don;t expect to pull next time your out on the town with the lads :p :p ;) :D

What a load of tripe, everyone shoud have not bought an 8 series card years ago, as today we have one single SM3.0 game that is complete garbage, 1 single game after how many years, are you serious!!!.

Im one of those ppl who said SM3.0 was not needed, and we have been proved right, the 6 series were released with SM3.0 years ago, and the only game to require SM3.0 solely is the turd of a game splinter Cell double agent, and it has came out how many years after the 6 series and their SM3.0, and also came out when SM3.0 is now finished as SM4.0 here!!!.

Errr, no?

Are you the person who incites arguments between ATi and nVidia fans, by always bringing in old arguments into a thread where the OP only asks if it's possible to run on his card via a work around.

You've also gone on to use BF2 as an example, where BF2 doesn't even use the shader in question - and has nothing to do with the thread.

The OP wants to know if he can run it on a 9600XT, not why he should have chosen a 6800 over an X8** series card.
