Anyone else out there playing this? It's completely daft and over the top but great fun while being quite tough in parts although I don't know how it compares to the original. It's from the same guys behind Hard Reset and contains broadly similar gameplay but with added swords and demons.

Can't link to any trailers as they all seem to contain swearing and copious amounts of decapitation.
 
Not played the 2013 release but recently played through SW Redux. Amazing game, loved every second and will pick up SW 2013 when I have time to actually play it :p
 
Caved last night and bought it from GOG for ~£25 ($40). Have to say, the hour and a bit I played was a little disappointing. It's good, I'd say a very good old-skool-esq shooter but with modern accents. Lo Wang sounds (and looks) younger and less gruff, less stereotypical and so far more politically correct :( The sword play is nicely done, but to the detriment of ranged weaponry imo. Levels so far seem more funnelled and less hub like as in the original SW

And health regen! :mad: At least it isn't automatic I guess

As I said it's good, but so far I still would rather play Shadow Warriror Classic Redux, but will give this a chance
 
Finished the game for a second time yesterday, seriously why are there so few posts here ? It is one of the best shooters of the year for god's sake! Great story and buddy movie style dialogues between Wang and Hoji, delicious katana swordplay and impressive gunplay (seriously, that 4 barelled shotgun is one of the most satisfying weapons ever put into a game). This game needs more awareness, it is too good, and PC exclusive to boot.

I finished it on Hard and have done about half again on Insane and I couldn't agree more :)
 
I thought it was mediocre. To me it got repetitive very quickly. Wasn't enough varied enemy's or weapons and story was boring and I didn't find it funny at all.

Graphics were quite good though...bout it. IMO
 
As much as I loved the original, I can't warrant the £30 price tag on steam.. I'll grab it when its cheap.

I'm more of a Duke guy myself :D.

Dammit Steam Sale, it isn't even Christmas yet and you're killing me already...

Now, time to install some Wang!!!

*edit - blimey, just in time too! Bought at 17:58, Steam sale finished 2 minutes later!

Picked it up on the 7 quid daily deal. Loved the original DOS version so looking forward to playing through this if it retains some of the style/humour!
