Shadowrun

There's an article on the Australian IGN which compares the two and the Xbox came out top.

They said the framerate on the PC version, even on a top range spec 8800gts, 2gb ram etc was shocking while the 360 version was fairly smooth. To play Xbox 360 users you have to pay for an XB Live gold sub on the PC, if you don't you can only play other PC users. As it's a VISTA ONLY game the userbase is likely to be small, and most won't be forking out for gold meaning the PC multiplayer side will be lame.

Oh and the crosshair has been mucked about with meaning you have a large circle, and the bullet can go anywhere in that circle. This is supposed to even things up but actually makes it easier on the 360 version.

I won't be buying a game if the developer manages to stuff things up like that.

I think I read that the aiming reticle is something that can be improved using the upgrades / skills you can apply in the game.

Did you manage to buy it from somewhere that will take it back if you are unhappy with it?

No, but I got it cheapish and can pass it off to a friend who wants it.

is it worth a rent ? whats so bad with it ?
It's just another run of the mill game. There's nothing special about it that stands out and it has clumsy controls. It's also multiplayer only and even then it doesn't do it well.

The main problem I think Shodowrun has is that it will need a large community to be sucessful and I don't see that happening.
It may have had a cult following on the PC if they hadn't dumbed it down so they could play against 360 players.

You also have to wonder where the support is going to come from considering FASA Studios is shutting down.

It's been a pretty unsuccessful project on a number of levels unfortunately.

Indeed. You can see the direction they were heading and it could have been good but they just kinda fell flat on their faces before the finish line.

Can i have explanations of why?

Good points:

Bad points

it would be Very useful for me and others to see whether its worth it..

+ They tried a new direction with the magic
+ fast pace

- 9 online maps
- clunky controls
- spells are imbalanced
- teleport through walls spell doesn't work too well
- poor weapon balance
- random parts are slow, like weapon switching, responses to button presses
- really retarded controls
- uninspiring maps and artistic design
- feels unpolished

I've spent about 3 hours on the game. 1 in training and 2 in multiplayer.

This rumour has been quashed so many times. FASA are NOT closing.
