I'm not sure if there is a thread like this or not and I am aware that the alpha client does not represent final gameplay and there is no point speculating required specs for BF3. But there's no harm in sharing what your fps was and what hardware you used right? (Or is there?)

I personally was using a HD 6870 at stock clocks with the clients presets to high, I was running around 45~ fps in the park area, once i got into the tunnels and ticket area, the fps increased to around 55 then back to 45~ when I was at the final push. This was on 1080p.

Care to share your experience?

Crossfire 5850's

High settings saw around 60-70fps and inside around 100-120 average frames.

Ran like hot butter at 1920*1080 :)

specs in sig.

On the first release of the alpha, sli wasnt working, single gtx 470. 50 fps max. With the updated client, sli was working, 80 fps max, 1920x1200 high setting. Cards are clocked at 750/1500/1674.

4890
i7 920
6GB ram
1920x1080
Highest Setting

Ran around 30 - 40 FPS out side
Inside 40 - 50.

Kinda disappointed with my 4890, considering I can run Crysis 2, shogun, Witcher 2 no problem.

Guess those FPS aren't bad but I need 60 FPS. Not sure if i should get a 6950 or wait for the 7xxx series.

I know I would want / need more than that if it were me.

I averaged around 50-55FPS both outside and underground. Was quite pleased, but will probably upgrade when the next set of cards comes out. 1900 x 1200 "max" settings etc.

Got between 35-45fps at 2048 x 1152 with everything on full with my 5870 1gig. Will either have to run at 1080p res and oc card or upgrade to 7970 when it arrives. Wait for the beta and see how that plays with more players on bigger maps and air support bound to stress cards more.

Alpha ran acceptably (no FPS numbers I'm afraid, as I only got a handful of post-work evening hours in) on my rusty old 4870, 4gig RAM and Phenom 720 @ 1920x1200, but definitely looking for more performance come release.
Will be using the beta to gauge where my upgrade moneys will be heading, but will almost definitely include a 6870/69xx card.

Had fraps running a few times:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
18875, 342610, 45, 86, 55.092

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
141, 2886, 47, 50, 48.857

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
335, 4758, 69, 73, 70.408

On my X4 640 @3.6Ghz, 5770 512mb, 4Gb DDR3:

1920x1080 on High = 25fps average

1920x1080 on Medium = 40-50fps average

1920x1080 on Low = 50fps average

Seems low for your spec!

Res? Settings?

1920x1080 on high setting, that was with one card though. I read somewhere that the alpha had issues with multi gpu and disabled crossfire before i played. Enabled crossfire on the updated client and was getting a max fps of around 120.
