Shared ownership question

We're in the process of buying a shared ownership property for ourselves. Mainly because we can't afford a suitable property on the open market where we have lived for the last couple of decades. We are buying 75% so not a small amount of money by any stretch of the imagination.

I have a question that I wondered if any of you who have bought or owned a property in this way might know the answer to.

The house has a shed in the garden but it's small and I could do with a much larger one to house my hobbies and use as a workshop. It would need a hard standing but not foundations and so I'm guessing it wouldn't need planning permission. Do you envision any issues with this in a shared-ownership scenario? I asked the estate agent and they said that they didn't know as they haven't been asked that specific question before. They say we need permission to make improvements but they class things like a conservatory, loft conversion, wall removal etc. as improvements and don't list anything to do with the garden.

Any ideas guys?

I had a shared ownership and no it wouldn't have been a problem. Ask the Other owner/housing association that owns it.

I've got her checking for me. Thanks guys for the advice.
As an Aspie, I need a "safe space" to get away from the real world so a decent sized shed is the idea. We have a 3rd bedroom at the moment that's my computer room but the new place only has 2 bedrooms. With a 2-year-old needing his own room that leaves nowhere for me.

Scarey stuff this buying business.
