Ok so ive got a netbook and desktop pc that i would like to be able to wirelessly share documents now i have tried making a 'homegroup' on my desktop but it doesnt show on netbook and vice versa....so is there any other way i can share documents?
If someone could give me a step by step guide that that would be great as im useless with networking etc
Thanks a lot guys.

Start -> Right click My Computer -> Properties. Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, you'll see the workgroup name. Make sure the name is the same for both computers.
Make sure in the Network and Sharing centre, you have set the network type as "Home network".

No problem, nice to see it's working :) Had a similiar problem like you once, all it took was a simple router restart.

Don't know if this is any use to you www.dropbox.com just set it up on the pc's you are using and it'll sync all the contents of your folder that you're sharing even if the netbook is away from the network (you'll need to be connected to the net though).

Was recommended by a few other forum users, does a good job.

Thanks mate..say i host my document folder on my desktop pc and then want to open it on my netbook do i have to have my desktop pc on?
I ve just realised that ive got a an account so i just download dropbox to both?

No,everything goes on the internet AFAIK.Everything you put in either the netbook document folder or your main pc's document folder will be automatically uploaded to the internet and downloaded on the other pc.

Yeah thats how it works, your files are kept in the cloud and any pc where you log into dropbox will retrieve your files. So say your at a friends house and need a document and you don't have your laptop with you, you could borrow there pc, log in to dropbox and access your files - obviously log out before you leave!

Ok cool....so ive just installed on my netbook and have put some files in the dropbox folder....so when i get home just install dropbox on my desktop and then all the files are there yeh?

Also be aware that if you delete a file on the laptop, it will delete the opposing copy on your desktop, so if you do accidentally delete a file and need to retrieve it from the other PC, don't let the pc with the copy go online or see the laptop across the network.

Ok thats fine im always going to copy/paste things into the dropbox folder anyways :)...just gotta wait till i get home and install dropbox and get it connected to my netbook now
