I currently have two networks here, one running off 255.0.0.0 (network A), and the other off a 255.255.255.0 (Network B) (Each are running DHCP servers)

I have a router on the network connection, and have plumbed network A into it. I set the IP of 10.1.1.10 for the router, this allows me to see the net on network A.

However, how can i get the network b to see it? Obviously, i cant just connect network b into the router, as it wont see it, and im sure DHCP will throw a wobbly competing with the other network. Changing IPs on this network is something i can do, but is it possible to add some sort of intermediatory into the setup to piggybag the network B onto network A

Any ideas?

Could i put in a router between network B and the original router?

Just tell it that the live net connection is 10.1.1.10 and give it a local IP of 192.168.0.1?

What sort of router do you have? You could use VLANs to do it or you would need a router on Network b and tell it the next hop is router A's address

What you will need to do is create a third network with a different IP range with just the router in it.

You then need another router to sit between the three networks. Probably the easiest way to set this up is using a PC with something like smoothwall to do the routing.

If its a proper router like a Cisco one, then each port should be in a different network.

Sounds like you have a switch linking the 2 networks. Only a router or a layer 3 switch should do that.

If its standard home ones then it looks like you are gunna need at least 2 routers and do what your 2nd post said.
