Ok, the last time I posted in this forum I got a answer that was spot on and fixed my 3 week issue straight away! So I'm hoping this one can be rectified too! I have just optimized my Windows XP SP2 services using a guide from tweakdown. It has greatly sped up my boot up, but the problem is this:

I no longer have the option to share folders across my network or even drives. The option to select this when I rick click on the folder/drive isn't available. I think a service I disabled may have caused me this hiccup! Anyone know what service this would be?

try right clicking file/folder and see if sharing is visible via properties.

Yup done that, also set "simple sharing" in folder options and that doesn't work. The problem is a service I believe.

try it in 'safe mode with networking'

im unaware what service could be governing this , but if safe mode works for you then at least you know that its down to some user setting .

You've disabled the server service. Sharing depends on it, re-enable and it should be available again.

That worked, thanks very much. I might add, that this forum has been the most helpful I've ever come across... good work.
