Sharing two ADSL connections

I have two local computers each with their own ADSL connection.

Can I network both PC's together and share both connections with both PC's?

Would a Netgear DG834 ADSL connected to each PC + ADSL line work if both Netgear DG834 ADSL's were connected together?

I'm then not too sure how WinXP then needs to be configured to utilise both ADSL data streams.

Best you can hope for is a load balancing router. Easiest way to do this would be to knock up an old PC and put a linux distribution on it that supports it.

Or something from this list:

Bearing in mind that you'd need two ADSL modems (ethernet, PCI or USB depending on which solution you would choose)

Overall, probably not worth it. I'd cancel one of the ADSL lines and save myself some money personally.

Most the linux distros that are designed for using as routers are really simple to install/use. Nothing at all like trying to get to grips with linux...more like trying to get to grips with a new router interface :)

I'm not sure if these days smoothwall supports load balancing without modifying it but it was a very good piece of software when I used it two years ago.
