Shark vision-r

I ride with a shark-evoline helmet.

French company iirc, good email support. Build quality is fair, my helmet had a hard spot just above my forehead, little padding there so added some in myself from a bicycle helmet. Mine is a flip lid and is very heavy, obviously this one wont be as, but worth checking against the competition.

Goes without saying try it on before you buy!
 
I tried the Evo but it was just too heavy, so I went for a Shoei instead.

The missus has a Shark and she loves it, build quality seems fine.
 
Shark helmets are pretty good, the ones I have owned have been quiet but like the other people in this thread I found them to be a bit heavy compared to my Shoei.
 
I like the look of that, is that an internal sun visor I spot? And how much is the sharktooth com system?

Yeah it's not a cheap helmet. I'm treating myself tbh, I've never owned a nice one.

I like the idea of the larger visor and all the other features on the vision r.
 
I have been the Owner of a Shart Vision R for nearly a year now. I read a lot of good reviews from quite a few sources.

My only issue with the helmet that i noticed in the first 5 minutes after riding away from the shop was the wind noise!
Now this isnt regular wind noise where its passing over the helmet its actually hitting my chest and firing straight up into the helmet.
I reckon it may be because I just dont have the shape of head to suit, but its clearly because of the size of the chin piece in relation to the size of my chin. I have solved the problem with some fabric but it was annoying to begin with.

Apart from that its a fantastic helmet, very comfortable and stylish. The option of the sun visor is extremely useful too.
 
Just got my vision r today.

Got it for the bargain price of 130 quid. Seems pretty good initially though I've got to wait until later to try it on the road. Will report back then if anyone's interested.
 
Aye.

Just been out to test the helmet and have concluded that it is fantastic.

It's so quiet, I can't even hear my engine noise, just the exhaust noise (sounds brilliant whilst riding)

The visor is awesome. The view has hugely improved compared to my last helmet. It doesnt fog up at all as far as I can tell so far, I was actually trying to fog it up to no avail. Also the auto seal system is pretty slick, it lets no air at all in through the visor. Obviously the vents can all be closed too.

Well worth the money IMO.
 
I've got a matt black Shark S900, it fits me much better than any of the Arai, Shoei or others that I tried on and it looks great too.

No, there's like a lever which opens the visor a tiny amount to prevent it misting up. I should have been clearer in my post tbh.

Eidolon, I got it from a friend who owns a store at a very discounted price. They don't retail for that price.
