Sharkoon Quickport Duo

Hi,

Just got myself a Sharkoon Quickport Duo and I've connected it the USB3.0 on my Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3, plugged in a:-

3TB Western Digital
2TB Samsung

formatted the 3TB no problem (in the Quickport) and then I try and copy the files from the 2TB drive to the 3TB drive, the process starts but only carries on for about 1 minute before both the drives disappear from Windows7 (Disk Management).

Now I'm not sure if there is a problem lies, could be the disks, could be the Sharkoon, could be the USB3.0, any ideas?

Does this only happen when copying disk > disk in the enclosure?

I've just tried copying from:-

2TB Samsung

to

1TB Samsumg

and there doesn't seem to be an issue, don't think the Sharkoon likes the 3TB drive, I will try mounting the 3TB drive in the PC.

Scrub that, discs have just disappeared again

I've had similar issues doing disk > disk in a different dual disk enclosure myself, not to mention speeds were terrible as it's not copying drive to drive but drive > PC > drive. I'd return it as faulty and get a pair of enclosures if this is the sort of usage you want.
