Hi guys :-)

My old tech workshop used these and OcUK once stocked them. This is going back to 2007 so things will have moved on.

What it was: it was a square shaped device (around the size of a caramel shortcake). 3 of the edges had ports for laptop IDE, desktop IDE and desktop SATA. The remaining side had a USB cable running to your computer. It was a fast way of using an internal hard drive as an external one. I think there was an A/C adapter too as I doubt that the disks can run off USB power alone.

Sharkoon turns out different results at the OcUK shop now, the nearest being the Sharkoon SATA QuickPort XT USB3.0 Plus. It doesn't have the IDE capability, but it's been a while since I've used one so no probs there. Just want a confirmation that this is the nearest thing I'm looking for? What I do find interesting is that it includes a USB3.0 PCI-X card which effectively makes my PC USB3 ready.. I guess!

Thanks!
