Hello,
just bought this 20" LCD and am having major troubles with it. hooked it up to my PC and it only works in 800x600 and 1024x768 at 60hz. If i try and push the resolution up higher then the screen just goes black.

Surely it's supposed to go higher than this? It looks horrible at the moment, edges are all blurred and it's impossible to read writing.

I wondered/hoped someone out there might have some ideas, if not then i am off to claim a refund in the morning. Which would be a terrible shame as it looks so pretty on my desk!

Thought i'd give this a shameless bumpity-bump as i didn't get any response the first time:(. Would it make any difference if i connected with a Dvi connecor rather than the traditional RGB or is it VGA? (the blue plug:))?

I think having googled this it's native res is 640-480.
Take it back m8 if you need a tv you can get a decent 32" lcd for £299.

It cost the princely (to me anyway) sum of £250. Why the hell would they sell stuff if it's going to be next to useless?

I'm going to take it back today, get a refund, then swear never to buy things from the highstreet on impulse ever again!

After doing a little more reading in this forum, you'll be thrilled to learn that i have a few more questions:

1) Is it true that a tft/lcd monitor's picture quality won't be as good as my old crt?

2) As a 20 or 22" widescreen monitor would have a larger native resolution i would be putting further strain on my (admittedly not top of the range) graphics card?

Thanks for your help,

Dave

Apologies for the shameless bump:)

Hoped that someone might be able to help with the questions in my previous post. I haven't got round to taking it back yet as work has been extremely busy and depending on the answers to the two questions, i may keep it just for tv, playstation and dvd.

Apologies for the repeated bumping but i'm really not sure sure whether to take it back or not. If anyone could answer the 2 questions above, it would be an enormous help.
