Had my camera in the car on the way to my parents house, so stopped on the way there and back, and decided to take a few quick pictures of some sheep that were in the field...

I presume this guy was the alpha sheep, as it starred at me for ages, came pretty close, and stamped it's feet, at one point I was pretty nervous as I though it was going to charge!
Alpha sheep also features in No. 6 & 7

Lol, I was going to name this thread Jeepers Sheepers!
Apart from alpha sheep, the others were quite friendly, although most liked to keep their distance, which made it hard considering my 85 is the longest lens I have, but some seemed quite sociable with each other.

Cheers guys glad you liked them.

@ Dup

"Thinking about it I'm gutted I've missed the lambs playing king of the hill etc"

I'v never seen this before, but then again this was the first time I ever really got close to sheep, I was surprised to see the difficulty young lambs have walking...

@ log1k
I must admit, I am a bit of a bokeh whore as it's not often I choose to stop down a little...

@ ATC
At first I thought something was wrong with it, it kept thrashing around on it's back, then lying still, then the lamb would try to feed and get hoofed by it's mum thrashing around, it was almost like it couldn't get up. So I moved closer to see if the sheep was actually distressed or not, I saw it's tail which fooled me briefly into thinking it was giving birth, so moved closer and closer to get a better look at what was actually going on.

Eventually the sheep saw me, and then hopped on it's feet quickly, which was a bit of a relief tbh...

Picture 10 shows a sheep on its back - they die like this as they often cant get roll over - you did well to make sure it was ok !

85mm f1.4 sure is a nice lens. Might look at investing in the canon equivalent if thats the sort of photo you can take with one.

I forgot to comment on Le photos.

Nice work dude, I really like this set, very different :D
