Well my Braun trusty 5614 Shaver died on me after 5 years good solid use and 2 coil changes, so its time for another one !

Ive used Braun ones all my life but noticed I do have to go over the same spot 2-3x for a clean shave, and my neck is always trouble since I have long akward hairs growing different angles, usualy im left with a red rash/neck lol

Ive heard people gone for Philips shavers only to say Panasonic are miles better and vice versa so confusing.... so whats a good shaver to get around £50-150 range ?

Man up.

I treated myself to a new one at Xmas, Panasonic ES8249 wet and dry. very, very good.

Well had a good look @ amazon and seems the panasonics are top dog... philips are more popular though but so many panasonic reviews are saying they came from braun or philips and wont ever go back....

Panasonic ES-RT51 seems most popular in best sellers...

The Panasonic ES8249 looks lovely but £200 is a lot of juice !

That Braun looks nice and only 45 quid reduced from 99 quid looks quite good and an upgrade to my one...

reviews look good also but ive noticed a lot of braun users that have gone to panasonic say the shaves even closer and less skin irration.

Hmm more things to consider....

Found the Panasonic ES8249 for £140 its usualy 180-200 odd quid....

Sounds quite nice having a 4 blade system, guess it makes it very hard to miss any hair then but some have said yeah its making it harder to shave the moustache area cos the 4 blade system is so big to fit inbetween the mouse and nose.

Right now am leaning on a panasonic :)

I have this too!

Does anyone know if the circular shavers do better with this problem?

Worst thing is after 2-4 days I noticed my braun hasnt shaved these weird alien strands of solid hair off my neck I have to use a tweezer to yank them out!

I always thought the philips circular shaving heads would be great for these weird hairs, the philishavers are very popular usualy have like 150-200+ 4-5 star reviews on Amazon, but the brauns and panasonics only about 30-40 4-5 star reviews.

Hard choice to make but I need to order something today! May just try the Panasonic.....

Well brought the Panasonic ES-RT51 from a local place but can say it is miles better then my Braun 5 year old 3 shaver foil shaver, I was able to literally trim a 7 day beard within 10 minutes with this panasonic shaver, no shaver burn seen or cuts or blood or damage done to the skin.

It really does shave closer to the skin also and does not pull the hairs out like my braun shaver use too.

Am sure other braun more up to date shavers are similar but ill be sticking with Panasonic for quite a while yet.

As another poster said though make sure u get the shaver adaptor quite silly really to not be able to use a product out the box....

Also the panasonic shavers 3 heads is perfect for under my chin and noise and moustache area id bet the upgraded panasonic model with 4 heads would proove difficult so glad I made the right choice !

I am in the market for a new shaver, what is this adaptor you are on about for this particular model? Do you mean a standard two prong mains plug?

Worth considering an i-trim if you like to sometimes grow it out. It comes with a guard for trimming but also an attachment to dry-shave with.
