shaving chest

There's nothing homosexual about removing hair. It's a lot cleaner than a hairy body.

Okay....

Shaved

Unshaved

I know what i'd prefer to look like if i was to shave.

Absolutely preposterous example.

If you were unfortunate to have that much hair, I think it would be a fair call. Besides Arnie was a professional bodybuilder where having bodyhair impairs the ability to see the muscle fibres. If I were to compete I'd obviously have to remove my chest and leg hair, but I'm not interested in competing.

The Sean Connery example was a perfect example. That's what a man is supposed to look like, none of this nancy boy hairless pre-pubescent obsession people have. I'm sure there must be an increase in oestrogen in people's diets these days as more and more "men" are becoming more and more like "boys".

However, everyone is an individual and if you want to get rid of your marker as an alpha male, then it is of course you're right to do so. It is however in my opinion and in my eyes a bit of a precious thing to do. Religious commitments aside, in terms of hygiene if you wash regularly and well it shouldn't be a problem either.

My definition is slightly lost with body hair. So I'm more than happy to remove it.

Cleaner how? Aesthetically? If so then I disagree, I think it breaks up the body a little and adds more depth to the body. It doesn't hide any muscle development or striations or any progress I've done at the gym. If you mean in terms of hygiene, then I completely disagree as well.

The only time I will agree is if you need it for your profession, i.e. modelling (though I'd refuse to model if I had to remove my chest hair), swimming, bodybuilding, and that sort of thing. Otherwise there is no need to remove it at all.

Ultimately it's down to vanity - most women like a some chest hair on their men.

Yes, because conpairing sasha bora cohen or whatever his name is to Sean connery is a fair example? :p

It was a jest, and i deliberately chose a hairy man for an example ;)

Fully aware you don't shave, as I've read your threads in the sports section...And I'm aware that he was a body builder :p (Along with many other people)

But as you say it's down to choice, so hey...Some people prefer not to have it, and if you have a good chest with 'too much' hair, then it's fair game.

I for one, do not want a ridiculously hairy chest like the one linked, so God knows what will happen by the time I'm 30 whatever....

I also believe that you have shaved before Freefaller ;)

I don't think it looks natural, but I'm not doing it for vanity's sake.

If you have pre-pubescent hair growth and really dodgy looking body hair, I'd agree that you might as well get rid of it, but if you have a Sean Connery chest wig, I say, leave it, it looks good.

Horses for courses I guess, ultimately if you prefer it it's your call, I just don't think it's natural :p

I have had my back and shoulders waxed before yes, and I admit it is down to vanity - I do it before going on holiday, but I don't bother if I'm just in the UK as I have no need to. Although it's only a little hair I don't like it. But it's people who deny it's down to vanity ;) Men don't have enough testosterone in their blood these days :p

Why do you think that at 30 you suddenly get hairy?!

Funnily enough, a lot of women also HATE chest hair...It's a thing that has come around in the recent years.

I guess we go for different women - and mine tend to be around my age which seems to be the "old" around 30 age you alluded to earlier :p

I guess as a kid I'd hate to have hair on my body, especially when you're in your teenage years I suppose I can understand that you have so much insecurity and lack of confidence at that age that that doesn't help. I think as you get older you worry less about such things and realise that it's not a hinderance but a positive.

I guess also it just shows your social dynamics, all my friends/family/relationships etc... all the men are masculine and the women all tend to like the masculinity.

Everyone is different :)

I'm a bloke I don't have to worry about my apperance

Here here!!! Sums up the thread straight away! :D

Oh I agree :)

I don't think you get hairy when you are thirty, but I know for a fact my dads back is hairy, and I no doubt will get the same 'problem' that you have, and just remove it if it gets too bad...I fine with a hairy chest as long as it's not king kong style.

Not different women no, as my girlfriend now likes my chest hair, and to clear up, I've never shaved my chest hair, so you know :p...Just comes from experience of girls I know or met saying 'I lime chest hair' and 'I don't like chest hair'.

EDIT:

Oh, and I never said 30 was old, as it isn't, at all.

some of us are more evolved and as such have less body hair ;):p

*dangles bait*

joking aside, I know many women who love a hairy guy as it's something primal, though I also know a lot of girls who like a nice smooth guy as they find chest hair chaffs during obvious moments >.>

and alternatively, I know most of all, a lot of girls who don't actually care about chest hair.

my opinion, as long as my girl hasn't got a hairy chest, i'm in the don't care section :)
