Shaving head completely bald...

I took the plunge about 4 years ago, wet shave it every 3 days. Also grew a beard, that measures in at 10 inches. I often get asked "is your head on upside down?"

Have you developed the urge to put on a music festival?

During the lockdown the Mrs was cutting my hair she was nervous about doing it but i said don't worry we'll just shave it off if it looks bad, fortunately she was pretty good at it so i never got to experience the glorious feeling of the wind on my dome. I don't think i have the right head shape for it but i do have a full beard

The time has come, started going grey before twenty, big fat receding line in my twenties, now in my forties well, looks like a dead grey haired alsatian.

In my mind, I am picturing Bruce Willis but in reality, I know will be one of those hairless cats.

Will probably look like an egg if lucky. Have had a buzz cut plenty of times but never took a razer to my head before.

Anyone done it and liked it, regretted it or indifferent?

I've been doing it for over a dozen years (I've been balding since my early 20s). Makes life easier - you just need to remember to put suncream on in the summer.

Talking of beards...

Does anyone remember when Connor Mcgregor became famous and all of a sudden legions of poundland clones started appearing in town on friday nights with their token beards strutting about like they owned the place ?

Bad times, set the beard back a good decade that did.

I might be mistaken but I think the whole tat sleeves and big beards look was popular before him. Its a sign you are absolute nails.

Looking forward to the Ken trend.

I first bought a remington quick cut a few years ago after coming to realise how much I was balding (probably took me longer than it should).

Then a few month ago on holiday I shaved my head with a razor. It felt awesome so I then came home and bought a remington rx7.

Now I try to shave my head every few days. It's so satisfying when you shave it all off and slap some moisturiser on.

Admittedly I've also become one of them beardy ****heads and I'm working towards a god of war look.

I had a hair do for years, v short back and sides, a few inches on top sticking up. It was crap tbh but i never knew it. Aged about 30 i went grade 1 all over and got busy working out, it had a major positive impact on my life. Fast forward 20 years later i still grade 1 or grade 0 all over but don't work out. Usually have stubble. If i let it grow i still have a full head of hair (although greying). It's great i've saved loads on barbers fee's and i think it looks ok.

I opted for a short buzz cut about 25 years ago as having lovely long hair was frowned upon in my profession for men. After that I started to notice some bald batches appearing on my scalp and my hair wasn't growing back so I went full skinhead. After that I started using an electric trimmer for a basic stage1 shave followed by a wet shave for a close stage2 but it became a lot of hassle so now I only need a Remington electric full head shaver that takes less than 5 minutes to "bald" my head without the hassle of wet shaving.

Yep, took the plunge during covid...... had a balding spot at back which looked terrible, the longer I grew my hair. Best thing I did, so much handier less hassle....:)

started going bald in high school and shaved it all off a year or so after leaving school
i was doing a 0 with the clippers for years, i've actually started using a number 1 attachment in recent years
have never took a razor to the head. i know folk who do it but too much work for me

It does. Nowhere to hide if you shave your head.
This is true. I have a 32" waist - enjoy a take-away and beer so have to watch the belly! I am fortunate that my metabolism seems to be consistent. Still, want to avoid a gut.

A beard - I wouldn't necessarily get too hung up - I get mixed feedback! Ages me, I tend to flit between looks, and as a baldie I've been told, can carry either. I'm conscious not to build a double chin which might help. Currently looking at getting my teeth done and rejoining a gym. I don't mean extremes like Turkey Teeth; its just what you say, there is nowhere to hide.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread about chrome domes - it happens! The natural oil from the hair follicles. I believe anti-oil face creams help. Don't forget Baldies on TV usually have make-up to prevent the shine!

The middle of summer is not the time. Sunburn on your bonce is not fun. Leave the shaving for autumn so you'll have 6+ months to acclimatise.
Think i will take this advice.

I have been using hair clippers for years now to keep what's left of my hair as short as possible.

Want to shave it all off now so will wait for cooler climate.

Will probably do a wet shave first and maybe get a electric shaver later.
