I have been shaving by getting my face wet with warm water/steam and then shaving with a disposable razor.

But my face feels dry.

What I'm I doing wrong?

I'm not a metro or anything, I just want a normal feeling face.

Use a better razor, use shaving gel, moisturise afterwards.

For me it's Mach3 + Gillette Gel, the Clinique 'dramatically different moisturiser'

....yes I ponce my other halve's moisturiser, so sue me, it's good stuff :)

Wet face, rub 5 drops of shaving oil on face, smear face liberally with gel, use razor.

Face like a babies bum.

Result.

Clarins do an oil that you apply to a wet face, before foam/gel.

Softens hairs and moisturises as well.

Blimey, I sound like a right pansy :p

Things you are doing wrong.
1. Use HOT water, and shave after a bath or shower (gets the pores nicely open).
2. Use a quality razor, I've got a soft face and disposables just slice me up.
3. Use Soap/Foam/Oil. - Pesonally (when shaving, I'm in a face fungus phase currently) I use good old fashioned shaving soap and a Badger hair brush to apply it, but Oil is next best.
4. Not using a moisturiser(sp). After you scape all the oils off your face, put some back in.
5. Shaving... Get some face fungus and look cool - Sideys to the chin and a big goatee are IN this summer.

Tip- keep your missus away from your Mach 3 Turbo :p

For me its-

Hot water
Nivea Moisturising shaving gel (for sesitive skin :p )
Mach 3 - Shaving with grain
Hot water
Re-Apply shaving gel
Mach 3 - against grain
wash off excess foam with hot water
Nivia After shave balm (also for sensitive skin :p )

Waits for the, "pah shave with a razor, I use a bowie knife and the rabid foam from a dogs mouth" post ;)

I prefer to use boiling hydroflouric acid and a house brick.

I use an electric shaver and moisturise afterwards, find that using a razor and even the best shaving gels leaves my skin too dry. I can only use certain shavers though, preferably remington ones (£40ish).

odd but works for me, no spots, no roughness and baby like complexion ;)

having said that I'm still single :p
