Shelf System idea

i am looking for a shelf or shelves to put on wall that will hold up a onkyo av receiver ...has anyone done this and if so how thanks....

My parents used metal wall bars and shelf supports for their whole av kit. The shelves were toughened glass and to hid the wall bars they painted some board the same colour as the wall and clipd these tohang down from the back of the shelf ato just below the top of the next piece of equipment on the shelf below, which allowed cables room to go up and down etc but hid everything from view.

The result looked amazing as all you could see was the bit of kit floating on glass shelves.
