I really like the idea of this. I would like it if the tablet was the controller as well though because indeed it will be hard to play on the train. I am more interested in streaming games from the pc to a different screen (pc is upstairs while huge tv is downstairs). I might get rid of my ipad 3 for one of these.
 
Are there any tests done for streaming across a long distance?
I can't imagine the gameplay to be quite smooth streaming from home to your tablet on 4G if you're several miles away?

Also, can you use the screen as standard to play games like normal?

EDIT: What's the battery life like?

There's not much on web on terms of full reviews, there's plenty articles on first impressions and what not but I can't find a through review looking at performance metrics, battery life, camera quality etc.

Just been reading reviews on using gamestream with Shield in the USA and there are loads of good mentions that distance is not an issue. People playing a game 1000's of miles away and having no lag from the PC. So I guess I could have the game on my PC in Glasgow but be playing it via my shield tablet in the USA for example! Very cool!!!
 
I'm barely getting to use my PC as I do a LOT of travelling with work. This looks like it could be a great solution if I can use a mouse and keyboard!

I'm in Vegas this summer (August 7th to 21st) so hoping to pick one up while I'm out there :)

This is the perfect solution for me besides building a Bedroom PC...can just hooke the tablet up into console mode on the TV and use Gamestream :D

I know there's plenty of reviews out there already Gibbo but when your get the chance can you let us know how Gamesteam is? :cool:

In fact Slashgear had a good couple of video examples and yup...all seems good to me! Looking forward to testing this out when I get mines :)

I am gonna give my tablet to RJK and he will test all this as I've simply used it as a tablet and it seems great.

The fancy streaming stuff RJK will take it home and do some testing at weekend. :)
