Shinobi XL - FREE Review Samples

Sorry paradigm I'm just not familar with your work lol

Most of my "hard work" in the hardware forums pre-dates the last few generations of systems. But I've helped pioneer the Radeon 9500 > 9700 flash, the Radeon 9800 to 9800XT flash, and more recently (but still three years ago) I hacked the latest intel intel desktop control center software to work with windows 7 and the intel DX38BT motherboard (granted this was on the xtremesystems forum, but my work there wasn't un-noticed).

Even older, I once held the top-spot on 3DMark2001 (back in the days of the GeForce 2 Ultra), using phase change (modified vapochills) cooling on both the CPU and GPU.

So, whilst I might not appear to be a relevent choice to the newer members of the forum, I'm more than capable of putting hardware though it's paces.

Well done lads! Any chance you can give us a sneak preview of what you might be housing in that XL case?

Half tempted to build a new X79 rig in it, although to be fair i'll probably move my current x58 rig into it, and custom watercool it, although with what I'm undecided just yet.

Either way, the system it will house will be stressed.

Are you running the cf 5870's in the A71F paradigm? Running sli 470's here, so id be curious to know what gpu cooling is like in the xl. Albeit though id guess that the 5870's would be a cooler running card than the toasty 470's.

For the majority of competitions (the ones where you have to do nothing in the end like OCUK give aways) I am very much against members entering/winning who have less than a certain amount of posts who have been here for years or some guy who just signed up to enter the comp. (granted there would be trust issues most likely given the status of his account as to if he would full fill the requirements in the end :p) but in this case, where a bit of effort/work is required, I don't mind if they do a good in depth review within a reasonable time period and intend on using the case and not selling it on once the task is done just to make some extra cash. Yeah it is still a kick in the teeth in some ways to those who have been here for a good bit with thousands of posts (loyal forum members) but if they put a lot of effort into the review and it turns out good then I don't have any problems with the winners post/status :p

Going by the 3 winners posts and posts throughout the forum, I am expecting great reviews! :D

Would have loved to have got one of these cases myself to review to post here and on neowin and to also use it as my main case :(

Impressive work my friend! Your name did ring a bell, i meant no disrespect but I certainly haven't seen your name in some time.....alas this only goes to show this was a fix and not random winners at all ;)

Sounds good, i look forward to seeing what you finally decide on using in your review......and the same goes for the other two winners.

Its a case ive been very interested in. I considered getting my current case heavily modified, powdercoating, cable tidy cutting and windowed side panel. Cost would be very high once shipping was added as well. Hence my interest in the xl, nice black interior, good cable management. My only concern though is the front airflow due to the closed design.

I'm looking forward Doing the review, be interesting how this stacks up against my 800d :D

Hopefully I should have enough coolant

@setter: There isnt a single report that for the small brother of the Shinobi XL there was a cooling issue at the front... In almost every review it got excellent cooling results and more than 60 awards worldwide!

No probs Kul1, case ordered earlier tonight. Should give me something to do on saturday, keep me out of the pub.:D
