ok so i been doing the stuff for a couple of years, and am moving to uni in 2 weeks, and have no idea what to buy. i normally pay£7 split between a few mates and go to shop, but i want to buy my oiwn, not to big mind u and hopefully under £40 with all things and some al-fakher/starbuzz/fusion tobacoo.

could you post linksso long as they are not competitors?

Bought ours online, it's great. Sheeshauk or something along those lines. Was £45 and came with 2 al-fakher bags. Don't think it matters too much what you get under a certain level - just something fairly big (ours is anout 40" I think), decent looking and well.. that's about it!

Edit: http://www.theshishashop.com/ - Doubt it's a competitor :p. But I also can't access it at work so I can't find what pipe we bought until later (it's got frosted white glass with a red pipe and metal top/wind cover).

Shisha shop competitor LOL!

double apple time?

the stuff shishashop.com sell is not that good, but it will do

i dont know what you get but either double apple or grape is best.. apple if you like more stronger, and grape for a smoother more moist smoke..

so for everything get the following

flavour : http://www.theshishashop.com/shop/al-fakher-double-apple-250g-p-127.html

Coal : http://www.theshishashop.com/shop/s....html?osCsid=1ab592e1785a24ac3c5e5356c034acd2

pipe : http://www.theshishashop.com/shop/b....html?osCsid=1ab592e1785a24ac3c5e5356c034acd2

make it and for 40minutes your getting good smoke, then it gets dry and smoke becomes thicker with less flavour, but if your by yourself thats the cut off time :D, but you can go for 5 coals per shisha, 2, then add 3rd after 30minutes, then another 30 and get rid of all and add 2 new ones

but anyway the coals arent suppose to burn ANYTHING, they just heat it up

I made this sort of thread earlier this year and it got closed because people started talking about illegal substances... this thread will probably go down that way :(

However, before it does, I have to say that Fantasia is the best brand ever. You can smoke their blueberry for 6 hours straight without changing it :D

The best place to order from is from the USA because you have a lot more variety and it is cheaper even with the shipping costs!

Don't you think we know that? It is fun and life can be short, so who cares?

The worst thing is my bank account - when I was at Uni I used to smoke for 5-6 hours a day, and go through over 1kg of coal a week. Must have spent around £400 on shisha tobacco and hookahs over 2 years :(

Jesus, that really will damage you're health haha. Let alone feeling ridiculously sleepy 24/7. We just break it out at parties and maybe once a week at a stretch when we just want to chillout with some music. But then none of us smoke anything else at all.

I find strawberry one of the best flavours.

I absolutely abhor smoking but this year I've kind of got into shisha, it's actually quite pleasant and social :) The pipe only gets broken out a couple times a month if we're in the mood or if we have guests that want a go.

I tend to like the two apples and coconut flavours.

Oh and I can blow smoke rings now <--- chuffed :p

Used to knock around with a Kuwaiti lad, he had this awesome shisha bong that he bought in Kuwait, it was glass, patterned, high quality etc, and only cost him about 5 quid. Probably cost about 10x that here

I thought those things were just fancy bongs! :D

So what are they really? How do they work, you put coal in it?!

They're fancy pipes. You pack your tobacco (which is a mix of tobacco, honey and fruit or herbs such as mint or vanilla) in a little bowl on the top, cover this in tin foil and place a lit charcoal on top. The charcoal slowly cooks the tobacco, the thick and tasty smoke from which is drawn down the stem into the water (or wine or wine) filled bowl when you suck on the mouthpiece.

My house-mate got me into it at uni but it's such a social thing, I haven't used mine in the months since graduating. You might find good value tobacco at a nearby (relative term, I know) shisha bar or restaurant. We bought a fairly large tub from a Moroccan/Lebanese restaurant in Exeter (Al Farids, on the Cathedral green) for about £20. He also sold large boxes of coals for a few quid less. Much better value than I've seen in any tobacconists. Of course, the best option is to get someone going on holiday to Egypt or some such place to bring back loads cheep. You can get 2-3 serving sized boxes for about 50p.

++ For not being bongs, or illegal, and for being very tasty. Mixed fruit, cherry and double apple == YUM!
