Shoes

Anyone have wide feet? Where do you go? I find it's somewhat difficult to find suitable shoes. I'm size 7 but have wide feet.

Currently have a pair from Clarks in H fitting but after a while still cuts to the back of my foot.
 
Any recommendations on Chelsea boot style footwear? I usually buy a couple of pairs of Base London ones from M&M Direct for about £35 a pair and that normally lasts a couple of years and are easy to bed in and comfortable but lately they only have stock of suede or light brown and i prefer black for work.
 
On a related note, I do need to buy new shoes. My previous were tanned brown Clarks brogues and they have lasted many years but the heel has worn and I fancy something new. I could do with two pairs actually, Oxfords and Brogues

Edit* Gone for a pair of LANX with 10% off code, really like the aesthetics of these and will suit my waistcoats and trousers I wear on shoots.

I need a decent pair of shoes that are durable (last a long time) and cheap.

I am guessing those 2 points dont go together!

I buy cheap shoes. Very cheap! Max £30. Never bought shoes more than that. I know, mad!

My shoes only tend to last a few months, surprise surprise! Not.

Budget is always an issue. I only got one pair of shoes of which, i use for everything. Work etc etc.

I would like Dr Martin shoes but loathed to pay £130 for a pair. But, i know that that would be more economical in the long run.

Money is very very tight guys.

Are there shoes available that are like DM's but cheaper? Durable? If so, which ones and where to buy them?

I know you will say splash out and spend some serious money but i really have to budget.

If i had to spend £120 i guess i would as long as the shoes are durable and comfortable.

I dont do a lot of walking in my job. Its not an industrial job.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Shoes

I always buy cheap shoes. Always have done. They only ever last a few months!! Cheap for me is £29! I need to spend more. But, my budget is £70.... Any ideas of good shoes to go for? I need them for work. Shop work so nothing industrial. Tough, not steel toe. Decent looking. I like Dr...

But they're comfortable around the house and garden...

You can also wear them when you've got a broken toe/foot/swollen foot (my father had to wear some when he went to the GP the other day, his feet are currently quite swollen and won't fit in any of his normal shoes, nor mine)

I thought everyone wore crocs for slippers these days? And if they don't, they should.

The only time they're excuseable is when there's a medical condition involved. Anyone voluntarily wearing Crocs is a wrong'un and should probably be put on a list :mad:

Wearing mine now, with a wooly insert. Yes i'm probably on a list.

you can get wooly inserts?

if that makes them like slippers i may be interested...(heads off to google)

Size 13 shoes and slippers are like hens teeth to actually find in stock and at a reasonable price*, I bought 4 pairs of "size 13" slippers over the last few months and none of them actually fit, especially if i'm wearing socks.


*Even Clarks only seem to do a really small range, and never have them in store, why the hell is size 11+ so hard to find in retail stores given the average size of men has gone up over the last 50 years (I bet the answer is "well we don't sell many" ignoring the fact they don't actually stock them in most styles and colours).
