Its the old moral panic. Anything new that people over the age of ~30 don't understand gets similiar treatment.

I recall a reading in my first year history at uni about how the bicycle (yes its true) got similiar treatment in the 19th Century. Apparently it led to people having affairs and the breakdown of marriages!

He's talking in general. There are exceptions to every rule. With 6 billion people on the planet, the number of exceptions to human rules is quite large

However gaming has been out for a while now, so we're talking (imo) about people over ~40 now.
