Hello,
I'm 100% SSD on my computer since 2012. I've caught a few deals here and there and kept my 500GB SATA SSD for several years for storage and upgraded a few times my main SSD for OS. I've waited and waited to see some important improvements on SSD to replace my olds 500 GB SSD but price didn't get down really until recently.
My main SSD is an Intel Optane 900p and I really just want faster SSD for my storage than my SATA ones, meaning that sequential throughput is really what matters. I've found that the tests I'm mostly interested in is the file copy test. The one that stands on top is the Western Digital Black nVME there https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/wd_black_nvme_ssd_(1tb)_review,8.html , even the 970Evo is not faster. However there are many other tests from many reviewers and the WD one is not always at the top regarding sequential throughput.
I'm not interested in the Samsung ones because the price is much higher for 1TB SSDs. I was also thinking about doing a RAID which would give much higher throughput, but I rather not do that anymore, it would be harder in the future to do an upgrade (I only have 2 M2 ports).
Thanks for your input.
