Hi all,

Looking to go away for a short break down to the coast at the end of this week. We've covered the north devon coast before (Lynmouth, Dunster) and some parts of the south east coast (Brighton Marina Village, Eastbourne) and Isle Wight and Guernsey.

Thinking of going to Beer or Seaton or somewhere quieter like that. Anyone been near there or have suggestions of nearby areas that are nice? Or larger places like Bournemouth. Only looking to stay either one or two nights in either a nice B&B or a Hotel.

Another suggestion was Cardiff Bay. Is there much to do there or is it just shopping area? Looking to just be on the coast for a couple of days :)

Thanks all.

Weymouth and the surrounding areas are nice, you can visit places like Durdle Dor and Portland.

Bournemouth isn't bad, but if you go a little further along you can get the car ferry from Poole over to Swanage.

Nice seaside place with mixes of countryside and quiet pubs that I never knew you could get to that easily.

Either that, or Sandbanks in Poole?

I live in Weymouth and can partially recommend it. Lots of nice places nearby with things going on all year.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll take a look now on the map. Are there any good places to stay in particular at those? i.e. Dawlish Warren, Weymouth, etc.

just come back from staying at my best mate's mums in seaton last week, wouldn't particularly recommend that place but beer is loverly!

Very picturesque, and the surrounding villages are just as nice.
