I know this has probably come up before… but the provider that I previously would have recommended (Be There) is no more :(.

I need a short term broadband contact. It's not a Virgin Media area, but the telephone exchange is decent enough with LLU providers, FTTC, etc.

Pretty obviously, any internet will be running on a phone line… so I need a no contract line rental as-well as the broadband. I don't need the ability to make phone calls on the line. Regular ADSL/ADSL2 will do, I don't need FTTC.

Ideally I'd want no contract what so ever, but let's realistically say that anything up to a 3month contract will be acceptable. One off up-front installation charges don't matter - if that's the price you pay for having no contract, then so be it :).

Any suggestions welcome! I'm going to test a couple of 3G/4G dongles, but I'm not expecting to get decent signal indoors :(.

I believe that the Post Office offer their HomePhone without a minimum contract term. If you can combine a Post Office line with Zen broadband you might have what you're after. I'm not 100% sure it's actually possible.

I would've thought Plusnet be the obvious choice? You just pay a £25 activation fee.

When you start your order, there is a section for contract just change it from 12/18 months to 'no contract'.

Not done it myself personally, a friend went with them a few months ago.

When we queried it with PN on the phone, they said there was no contract at all.

EDIT: OP maybe worth calling PN and asking them yourself?
