should I be getting more speed?

Just ran AS SSD on the new machine. Crucial M500 480GB, on a M/B Gigabyte Z97P-D3 (using SATA port 1) with a CPU G3258.

I am getting Seq 489MB read 402MB write. 4K 22MB read 95MB write, 4K-64 329MB read and 300MB write, Acctime 0.097 read and 0.055 write.

Was rather hoping for over 500MB on the read and writes.

Is this within a ballpark of what I can except?

Thanks Wazza, just updated with the latest off the Gigabyte website. Given me a smaller improvement in the 4K read now 24v 22 and write now 109 v 95, but everything else more or less the same.

Well if its the spec in your sig then I assume that you are using a additional controller card? The main ones that I know are based on the Marvell chipset/controller and they are pretty terrible and getting those speeds is about par for the course. This coupled with the fact that SATA3 controllers that use 1xPCIe usually are bottlenecked and tend to underperform.

I have a x58 board with the marevell controller and I don't get full speeds from my sata 6 ports.

I get 380mb ish read and 250mb write.

on sata 2 port which is intel I get 287mb read and write.

the only way I could get the full speed was to a raid setup which once done I couldn't notice any difference in games or load times from single drives so went back

he should be on intel sata3 speed ports,he should be getting higher speeds imo, could be misaligned ssd idk

looks alright to me

idk whatelse to suggest:( I doubt the cpu would hold anything back im not sure but doubt it
