my fan is going @ 50% but after 5 minutes of playing cod4,temps are reaching 95+

should be fine, GPU's can go ~ 100, their built for those temps, so i wouldn't worry

is that really with ZERO GPU activity. If so yes, I'd be very worried. Check the fan is working, if it is, you might want to take it out and re-sit the cooler.

I dont think it is too dangerous for the actual gpu, but it cant be doing your other components any good. Especially a sound card etc. If you have good airflow in your case then i wouldnt worry

ye got really good airflow in my case,case temps are now 25.

It isn't that bad, but it certainly could be better. My card hit 85c after gaming.

Those temps are a bit high for the fan @ 50%. My 4870 fan is set to 30% and my load temps never go over 70C, but i guess the 4870 has a bigger cooler. But at those temps there shouldn't be any problems, but i still would have thought the fan set to 50%, the temps would be lower.

Assuming it's the autothrottle that's running the fan at 50% it's absolutely fine.

If it's a manual fan setting of exactly 50% then you've got troubles, as the auto fan would be running much faster by this temp (seem to remember someone else here quoting that 50% is where the auto sets it at around 85 degrees). Fighting high idle temps is no use if you vapourise the core under load.

i followed the quide to manually changing the fan speed,50% didnt work but now ive set it to 51%,temps are now below 45c
