Should i buy an xbox just for Gears of War?

yep thats why i got myself a 360 just for Forza 2 when it comes,but must say im playing other stuff right now aswell.
Also i brought a ps2 & ps1 just for Grantrismo allso :D

Pc is my main gaming rig,but i say if you have money go for it for sure your only here once ;)
 
I'm a down and out PC gamer, keyboard and mouse can't be beaten!

BUT I've just got a 360 for the pure reason I'm getting tired of sitting at a desk hour after hour playing games, it is SO uncomfortable, I want to be able to play and enjoy a game in comfort, so I went for a 360.

Knowing that the keyboard and mouse rule for FPS I was a little worried what I would find when playing the likes of GOW, R6:Vegas and a few other FPS titles, but to my surprise the aiming system is excellent.

My advise would be don't buy it for one game (although Gears is an excellent game, good visuals and game play etc) as you will regret it, make sure there are other titles that you are interested in that way you will love it and not end up feeling like you have thrown £££'s away.

I've just spent most of the day playing GRAW which was terrible on the PC but on the 360 it is an excellent game, just got hold of Test Drive Unlimited also and Saints Row to enjoy from the comfort of my bed and to play in HD on my 32" Sammy :D :D

i made the decision to buy now anyway but after reading that im def going ahead

is it worth buying GRAW just now or waiting till GRAW 2 in a few weeks?

I got a 360 with GOW and its amazing best console buy ever i recommend u get one.

Yes. I bought a gamecube just for resident evil 4, can't say I regret it at all as that's one of my best games of all time :)

But then again that didn't set me back £300! The 360 is a good console, GOW is visually stunning and a very good game imo. For one game, no its not worth spending ~£300 but I guarentee you with the amount of quality games out there right now for the 360 and the ones that are coming soon, you will find a hand full of games you enjoy just as much as GOW if not more.

Make sure you get yourself a HD TV too if you don't have one already, I recommend the samsungs :D

I would say get GRAW now, it is also a great third person shooter but I've seen it at reduced price, infact I think it might be one of those classic ones or something. Around twenty quid I would say wouldnt be that hard to find.
 
Really enjoyed GOW myself, both single player and co-op. I guess with some of the mags saying it was 'best game ever' there was always going to be a backlash against it from people who didn't agree. Same thing happened with Halo.

There's enough other good games to make a 360 worth getting - R6V, GRAW, SC-DA, PGR3 etc.. and plenty of good stuff on the way.

Nope not a salesman just putting my view across, I would get GRAW as you can pick it up quite cheap now, If you like FPS games with a bit of strategy you'll like it.

The in-game sound effects are also truely amazing, the guns sound very realistic so do the explosions, I actually jumped yesterday whilst playing it as a building infront of me blew up...with a 32" TV you easily get consumed by the atmosphere and really get into the action!

nice, well i went and bought one today with Gow and PGR 3, been playin multi all day :eek: where does the time go

Though it's not the only reason, now I think about it it was wanting to play PGR3 that made me make the final plunge... great game :D
 
I bought a 360 last week mainly for GoW & CoD3, since then have also purchased test drive unlimited and R6: Vegas and it was a damn good decision to buy one :)

With Halo3, forza 2 & GRAW 2 on the way i cant wait.
 
Dont forget GOW is suppose to be the 1st of a Triology !!!!!
So two more GOW tiltles will be due out in the future....

As soon as the wife's Tesco credit card arrives i'm off to buy a 360 Premium Bundle inc. GOW, PES 6, PGR 3, WWF Smackdown and Arcade unplugged(?), for around £345 notes.

You say all games you like would come out on PC anyway later but here you are thinking about buying a 360 just for Gears :p I'd get one for sure. There are bound to be some other 360 exclusives you wouldn't want to miss.
