I bought my first HIS 7950 to replace my 7850 but since the BF4 beta I can't help but thinking that just wont be enough to last me especially at 1080p ultra with 4 x msaa and a nice SOLID 60 FPS +

Today have seen that it is apparently the last deal on the HIS 7950's but the problem is I will also need a new PSU as only have a 600w Coolermaster Silent Pro powering my machine at the moment. I have had a look and seen these:

HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) **FREE SHIPPING**
(£149.99) £179.99

EVGA SuperNova NEX 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
(£74.99) £89.99
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-002-EA

Total : £269.98

Gfx is a no brainer but what about the PSU? Its gold rated and 750watt so should be absolutely fine or should I look at another one? I could do with spending as little money as possible so if I don't need to spend £90 on a PSU i'd rather not but want to make sure I have enough power to not worry about that being a problem.

A bit time limited as only 2 PSU's left in stock and the 7950 numbers are dwindling down.

Cheers.

I know nothing about EVGA PSUs but on paper it seems fine. Fully modular too which is a bonus.

Re: second 7950, definitely go for it but I would OC your CPU more especially if you are overclocking the 7950s.

Dang it, funds wont allow for both so going to order the 7950 as unless Gibbo was lying it is the last offer on them.

PSU's tend to stay around the same so will dip into my overdraft a few days before BF4 and grab the PSU ;)

Am I right in thinking don't even try the second card with my current PSU? (Coolermaster Silent M 600w). I do have 4 SATA HDD, 1 SSD, Wireless USB receivers x 3 etc

I wouldn't overclock on that PSU but is there the chance it could all go bang if I plug it in and turn it on?

Cheers for the help.

My Crossfire 7950s and a rather power hungry 8350 were struggling on my XFX 650w. So i would say 600w is not enough. i upgraded to a Corsair 850w so i have a bit of headroom for OCing and what not. Not sure if it would bang, but mine failed to boot a fair amount (I assume because not enough juice, on the new one its fine), so it may not power on.

I just clicked buy on a second 7950 ice q :( damn supposed to be saving for new York :(

Lets see how this goes and hopefully my corsair 700w power supply can handle 7950 crossfire! Fingers crossed!
