Should I format before installing?

Hi Ive just recieved the following :D

Geil Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6400 Dual Channel memory kit (2 x 1GB) 800MHz (4-4-4-12)

Intel CPU Pentium E2180 DualCore 2x2.0GHz 800MHz 1Mb LGA775 Retail

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35 Express LGA775 1333 FSB Quad-Core

Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU

Asus Radeon 4850 PRO HD512MB PCI-E DVI



My current spec is p4 3.0, rad x800 xtpe.

should i format before putting the new stuff in
 
Ok, I might aswell start backing my stuff up now to my other drive. After that Ill stick in the new parts and then do a format.
 
Just need to back up a few things then im gonna start installing the hardware.

Got it all setup now, just finishing installing drivers. PhoenixUK what timings should I set for the ram?
 
I want to run it at stock for a while, gonna try some games soon if it needs ocing I will.

For stock would it be better to run at 1:1 or 1:2
