Thinking about getting an AKASA AK-FC-06-BK Black 3.5" Fan Controller. Should I get one? It's only going to cost me buttons but I'm unsure whether to get one or not, do you use one?

ive fitted 3 of the larger 5inch bay ones and i think they look cool and you can turn the fans right down if you want, or up

4 fan controller
cpu
gpu
front fan
exhaust fan

sorted

I use my fan controller all the time. As my PC is in the front room I use it to slow down all the fans while im surfing the net, when im gaming they all go up.

The fan controller you have posted fits in a floppy disc bay, however you can also get the optical drive bay ones too.

Good idea, I thought that would come in handy myself for that purpose, does yours fit in the FDD bay or optical?

I have this one...

Which fits in the optical drive bays. It also has 4 temp sensors which you can view but I only use one.

The trouble with the digital display ones is that the price difference is at least another tenner. I would be spending £20-£30 instead of just £8! Does anyone know of a cheaper controller with a display etc?

Do you have the need to vary the speed of your fans?

I thought it would be a nice addtion when I come to overclock in the next few days, and whilst gaming I could put the fans on high etc. If I have a fan that operates @ 1200RPM, what will the high and low setting be for this fan?

Sorry if this feels like im ripping the thread here, but i also have the optical bay akasa 4 fan controller.. i can't figure out how on earth to get it monitoring temps  i know how to set all the options etc, but where on earth do you plug the wires in on the motherboard??? (obv this all depends on the motherboard.. i have the BFG 680i - is it possible to plug it in on this one?)

Cheers,

Phil

Temp Wires

The temprature wires coming out of the fan controller are temprature probes. You have to place these either on the heatsink or the core of the chip you are monitoring.

Personally ive just used one to monitor the case temp which gives me a indication of the heat inside the PC.
