Should I get a Ps3??

They say ITV Player, but what are the chances of 4oD being included too? I heard it was in the pipeline. Though it doesn't matter so much now that most of the 4OD content is on the 4OD Youtube channel.

One of my friends had a problem with their old PS3 80Gb not loading games properly and the drive being generally slow so he brought it round for me to have a look, took it apart and while being massively impressed with the quality of the hardware inside managed to fix it and then play the thing for a week before he collected it. That completely sold me on these machines, not only will they not burn your house down (x360) but the games I played on the PC that were good but terrible ports played really well on the machine, so now I have a slim with a shiny new 500Gb HDD inside and it is the perfect media server/gaming machine for this house.

I wouldn't recommend owning a 360 and PS3 unless you've got the cash to burn. Exclusives aside, there isn't much to distinguish the two.

I picked up a PS3 to complement my PC gaming and it's a good match. Most 360 exclusives do reach the PC eventually. PS3 also serves well as a media player. I do miss Live but get on fine without it.

Good job on cancelling the warranty.

Well I just brought a 120gig slim with mafia 2, impulsive :D

Good lad, good lad ! :D

I just bought my 3rd PS3 this weekend too.. Well techincally its for the kids.. That good of an all round system it is, that i now have 3 of them in my gaff... Didn't even bother turning it on, before swapping out the hd for a 250gig. I just like the convenience of movie watching, media streaming, blurays, music player, photo viewer and oh of course gaming machine...

Hey one thing i discovered was that if you use a different profile ( for the other two i just kept one) you can download all your games then install them as the different profile, then play each other without the need of owning two copies of the game... Something you cant do with a 360 and definately can't do with a wii..

so as far as choice for having two or more systems in one household the PS3 is the way to go, 10times over !

You can download them on different consoles the 360 too. :)

You just recover your gamer tag on a different console. I've used that feature to download San Andreas on 3 seperate 360's in the past.

Recovering a profile every single time is not something I'd wish to do every time I turned on my machine.. Besides wouldn't i need to carry around a USB flash pen to do that... Way way waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much hassle.. Nope PS3 all the way for me !

Agreed.... Although you can take the HDD out of a xbox360 and put into another and it just works, PS3 can't. You take the HDD out of a PS3, and that's sometimes a task as you need to unscrew it etc and plonk into another PS3 - well it formats it.. Ooops.. Content lost.

Swings and roundabouts. Each has a strength, I think the PS3 has the better options all around but the 360 makes it so easy to swap the HDD, no reason to reclaim a gamer tag if you don't mind un-plugging HDD and putting into another machine.. My missus old boy does this all the time when he comes over, he brings his HDD - instant gamer tag and all his content on my 360. Job done.

Anyhow, think OP got his answer. Ps3 is a good machine, plenty to help him make his choice..

How do you play each other when you only have one HD to go round?

Running multiple 360's in one household is a fail in my opinion.. Less of a fail than Nintendo's offering, but even so still a fail.

Ah well I didn't actually factor that into my ramblings. You can't.. !! This is ok for recovery of a gamer tag if all you want to do is move to another 360 without using the recover gamertag option each time..
