Bit banal this question tbh.

But still, a quick question for those that have played it.

I'm looking for something to keep me occupied the next couple of weeks before Prey and maybe Chromehounds come out.

I'm looking for something fun, and not as intense as say playing COD on Vet, GRAW on hard or Burnout trying to get Perfects.

Basically, is this really any good? Or (check my xbox profile) is there anything that fits the bill better. (Don't really fancy Table Tennis, though I said that about GRAW!!) And apologies for the specificness of the question ;)

I havent touched my copy since it was released, did the first 2 missions I think :o

I found it very hard even on normal, so not sure it would fit your criteria of not being 'intense'.

Good game though, should keep you occupied.

Just started playing it on the PC, it's an excellent game if you like slow paced, tactical and clever thinking, it'll take a little while to get used to if you have not played any of the previous hitman games, but you don't have to have, the first level is a good runaround and overall good tutorial for the whole system.

You always have the option of just getting a machine gun and taking everybody down in sight too, which is nice :p

im really enjoying playing it.

not played any of them before so didnt really know what to expect.

but im finding it a nice challenge which it surely is

im just on level 4 the last level took me 3 hours to figure out and complete

dunno if thats standard or maybe im a bit slow on it.

but im playing it as a hitman rather then just blasting crap outta that moves

It was good, suprisingly fun replaying missions with 'bomb in a box' tactics...but if you play it as solidly as I did (not advised) then don't expect it to last more than 5-7days (make that 1-2days if you use a guide).

Its much easier than previous hitman games.

I played previous Hitman games and tried the demo of this but didn't like it... I hated the tutorial system... "do this, do that" Tell me, does this continue throughout the game?

I woould love to play it, but the demo really put me off :(

From the 3 missions I've played after that, you don't get told what to do at all, you're pretty much left in the deep end. However you can buy 'intel' which gives you the odd bit of detail about potential problems or 'accident' situations.

The explicit help is just for the tutorial mission, the amount of help you get after that depends on what difficulty you play it on. Lower difficulties (Novice, Normal) give you points of interest marked on the map, with guards and civilians also displayed. Higher difficulties only have targets marked on the map (although sometimes you have to perform tasks to find the target) and some areas of interest show up with an exclamation mark when you're near them, but don't display them on the map.

Its enjoyable.. but i wouldnt pay full price for it..

Plus you kind of want to play through all the missions once gung-ho to learn them then play them all again to try and get maximum score. But all in all it isnt bad at all (thats too many all's) :p

Thanks for the replies.

Though it's starting to sound a bit like...

Start a mission, learn a bit, do quite well, then.. fail/die (not sure what happens in hitman) start again...
Take on board what you leant, start, do even better, get to a bit you couldn't have forseen, die... and start again...

Rince and repeat...

I hope I am, but am I wrong?

You're pretty much right, but you do have a limited amount of saves you can use during the mission, and they will be wiped off when you leave/quit, meaning you have to do a mission in a single sitting to progress.

It seems like a 3D version of the superb Commando's title to me.

I did play the demo but wasn't impressed even though it was just a training mission featured in it. Been considering buying Hitman but think I'll just wait for the next slew of titles.

Yes, but you have PDZ; if you've tried doing that on any high difficulty you'll know what kind of gaming experience you're letting yourself in for!

Lol, yeah I realised after I'd posted that I'd tbh described almost the de facto gaming template, and could I argue that PGR3, GRAW, COD2 or even games like Kong and Kameo are any different.

I think I'll probably get it, heck I need something to satiate my gaming thirst the next couple of weeks. Ideally just need someone to stick one on MM ;) but a trip to Tesco could happen.

And P.S., PDZ was the only 360 game so far that I've really taken a dislike to. :)

Well going to answer my own question, just picked it up with the weekly shopping.... Lol, as the Tesco lady is scanning my strawberries and mince and smiling at my 20 month old daughter she comes to 'Hitman for £39.96 for the XBox 360' and I get 'the look'... you know the one.

Will tell you what I think of it tonight :)

I like the game but I was disappointed, too easy imo. The previous games where much more difficult and I have found at least 3 levels easy to complete within about 15mins, you only have to wait for the right guard to get in the right place and you can complete the level easy with the highest ranking..

Still very playable though, I'll install the earlier ones to replay as they never get old :D
