Hi All,

Just wondering, as i haven't really had much of a play with vista, would it be worth it for my new system? (look @ sig)

OC are preftty ******* cheap at about £61 (pc world...*spit spit* is £119)

I take it directX10 is a vista only thing.

Cheers for any advice

Neal

depends if you need any of the features.

If you have to buy a new os then I would go vista. But if your just upgrading for *** sake of upgrading then there's not much point.

Go for it :) I've been using Vista since the Beta's and do not have any problems with it. I would never go back to XP (personal choice though). I play games, music, burn DVD's and CD's no problems.

hmmm what to do? lol

Im not just upgrading for the sake of it, if i cant use directx10 in xp, then theres not much point me buying a directx10 gpu gpx cd... hmmm i dont know

XP has more mature drivers and better hardware compatbility. XP has faster gaming framerate.

Gap is small and Vista is actually faster in some games, also remember Vista has better security, better memory handling and longer life span, not to mention DX10 and rest of the benefits it has, personally I'm using Vista x64 as a gamer ,and I have not encountered any 32 bit game I can't run(over 30 installed at this time).

As to drivers I have them all and there are regular updates so drivers are really not an issue.

Btw I have XP on my backup PC but never had to use it,only gets used now for updates, says a lot about Vista.

What games are out now in DX10?

nowt yet... but crisis is already pre ordered and thats DX10 is it not?

i dop know it will work in DX9.c but surley it would be better to use the new tech'

but only using DX9.c i understand?

I might buy it, see if i like it.... if i dont, its there for the future, and go back to xp..

you may have swung me.. For the £61 it costs.. why not :D it is only £61... not £611 after all... spend that and more on a friday night out.

all entitled to their own opinion... you cant be the only person i listen to now can you?

like i said, i waste more than £60 on friday night, so no hardship :D
