Should I just get a TJ07 new?

What about the TJ11?

I keep getting tempted by the TJ07 too.
but then I keep looking at the XSPC H2 Tower case and think that that will probably be my next watercooling case. If I watercool my next build.

I'd say £20-30 is cheap, anything over £100 I'd probably count as expensive. £200 is really expensive. £400+ is also really expensive, if you're spending over £200 why not spend over £400?

If you're spending over £100, why not spend over £200? If you're getting that GTX 570, why not get the GTX 580? If you're getting the 2500k why not get the 2600k?

I think I've made my point.

hmmm I am torn between powder coating and painting my TJ07!

in my experience with car parts..unless the powder coater is fantastic you never get a great finish. ok for parts like suspension and subframes etc but i would want the rough finish on a pc case.

two pack modern paints are very tough have great choices colour wise and the finish especially when lacquered can be so smooth a deep looking that powder coating cant compete at all.

if really done well with candy paints special undercoats top coats and lacquers paint finishes can look superb and out class everything else..

What about for internals though? Where you're mostly after toughness rather than looks. Especially since you don't want a glossy internal paint if you're going to have any sort of light in there.

The trouble is with these cases is that there's nothing to upgrade to. Once you have a TJ07, you can't really go any higher, you dont need more space, more drivebays etc. So the only time you'll get one up for sale is on the rare occasion that someone has come to the end of their tinkering career, which is not that often, or when they've gone nuts and bought the TJ11.

That said, i've seen a few go on the MM before now and have considered it each time. It's still £150-£180 though, they hold their value.

Personally, I'd buy new. I was extremely lucky that I managed to grab an FT02 in exceptional condition from a trustworthy seller on here right when i needed it. Up to you!

Very true
But this is where I am a bit of a loss! The paint is for the internals and going to be matt black(dont want shiny colours inside)
I am leaning towards painting (solvent base + Clear Coat) as it is cheaper as well:)

yes i would still be tempted to paint inside most bought cases are painted.

you can still go matt black or satin with going super gloss.

powder coating is a high temp applied finish using an electrical charge to attract the powder which needs to be hot to flow and the finish is tough .. but paint can do a better job still in my opinion.

i would always paint over powder if having down professionally..

Painting is offered by a pro who knows what he is doing and has the tools and an indoor baking oven for painting cars (or is it "baking" cars?):)
Was thinking of matt black.

I'm making a counterpoint. If you're spending £500 on a rig, why not just spend £1000?

Well that's my point, sorta. If you're going to spend a lot of money on something, why quibble over spending a bit more?

Are you a troll?

I'm no oil painting but this is probably a bit harsh! :)

In answer to the original question posed by this thread "Should I just get a TJ07 new?"
If you want one and can't find one second hand, yes buy a new one. I believe it has been done before and is a tried and tested method of obtaining stuff. :)

You can fit a 520mm rad in an rv02 :p

Mr may why did you make a new account, and I'm like you :p the rv01 is my favourite case I've ever seen :p

i made it as i got banned from MM as i cant help but come on here and i miss not being able to post as it can really help some people and i come on here everyday at least twice lol also need answers on the hazro before i bought one

and it is mine ever since i got it my dada wanted a new case saw it on the bay got it dead cheap brand new and i knew i must have this case so i gave hime my old powercoated kandulf lcs with all the watercooling parts for just this case i wanted it that much and he got a bargin so was well happy lol

very true i alwasy think that about changing my RV01 just for a change but there is no other case to match it for what i need, the only other option the TJ11 and even then i think ill keep the RV01 for a second pc :p
