Should I keep my iMac?

Im far from loaded unfortunately, i buy new toys whenever i get a few £100 spare...

Aperture is really very good and since v2.1 ive hardly had to use PSCS3 at all, Aperture easily takes care of all my processing including minor retouching.

Im currently using a 5D and 2x 1dmkII bodies, im in two minds about selling up entirely as im saving to buy a new car, and would prefer the new car over the cameras atm... and then replace the bodies with 2x 1dmkIII and the 5d replacement (5dmkII, 3d, 7d whatever it gets called)... sorry for the OT, i got carried away there.

Just to clarify, you didn't go out and buy a mac because someone told you all photographers use them and you neeeeeeeed one, did you? Because the iMacs really aren't all that when it comes to CS3, and Aperture is hardly a good enough reason on it's own.

A mate of mine has just said i should have got the 3.06GHZ 512 GFX iMac instead of the 2.8GHZ and 256 GFX.. Would getting the top range one be any better?

I have decided to keep the iMac either way as i really love it and it faster than my MBP and the screen is ace. May duel Screen the iMac one day

iMac's and mac pros aren't the only choice for photo work.. S'all I'm saying! If you have another reason for wanting one fair enough

Im very into photography, 3 pro canon bodies and lenses...

As for my computer setup...

WHY do you need all that ? More than 1 camera body can makes sense in some cases, backup etc, as for all those computers , you can only use one at a time ?, 4x screens is bordering on pointless surely ? 2x 24" screens is just about enough if you use it constantly ?

Utterly no need to have that many PC's for so similar uses, if your a FAH addict, make yourself a server rack with more computation power for same or less money
