You are allowed to overtake slower moving cars and if you then found yourself unable to stop safely for a set of temp lights that srung up from nowhere, you might be in the right to go through.

Don't be silly, that isn't what happened. You're in a queue coming up to traffic lights you don't overtake - simple. What sort of idiot driver does that?

It isn't just the picture. Read the words and think of the children of the brave workers fixing our infrastructure. Most traffic controls are partly there to protect these workers.
