hey guys Xbox360 gone to heaven.
Graphical corruption and now alls i get is 1 red ring and an E74 error code.
Tried different cables ect but no joy.

It's a premium console so with the graphics corruption the hard drive is probably ok right? So i was thinking, may as well buy a CORE to replace it as i have all the extra's, ie- hard drive, wirless pad ect.

what do you think ?

ps- was a launch console.

The difference between a PREMIUM console and a CORE console consists of 3 things

1. 20GB Hard Drive
2. Silver cd drive cover
3. Wireless controller

Just buy the core and drop your HD on :D

When my premium broke i just got a core

Only things extra in premium are HDD, Headset, Wireless Controller and Chrome Finish, all of which you already have.

cheers guys i shall just buy a core.

I now have a bigger problem.

I have 3 Wheely bins. Green/Black/Grey.

which one should i dump it in ?

PS- hope your proud of yourself bill gates yeh rich geek.

I got a core when my premium died too.

Got it with Viva Pinata, Fuzion Freenzy 2 and a memory card for 200 notes.

You could always try putting it up on an auction site for spares?

Put it in the black bin.

I think the core with its non-chrome drive looks prettier than the premium anyway :p Tis a shame you had to buy another one, the failure rate of 360s are shocking!

Remember that when you swap consoles, all your XBLA content won't work without a connection to LIVE!

The XBLA content licences are tied to the 360 console that it was originally downloaded to. When you swap consoles the content will only work with a LIVE! connection, without a connection they will only operate in demo mode.

I think you can get Microsoft to reset the licences by calling the Xbox Support line.

hi guys sorry to keep waffling on but i have reserved a CORE system for store pick up tommorow from an un-named high street catalog store.

obviously i can't mention the store name but we all know which one.
I noticed they do 3 years cover for £29.99
Which seems rather good really. anyone know if this warrently is a good one or a con?

MS do their warranty for 40 quid.
TBH i would go with MS' as it would be less hassle imo.

EDIT: just dug up some extra info on the cover:

i shall be giving that a miss then.

I replaced my broken premium with a core. I swapped the sides for the metallic ones, and swapped the drive cover for the chrome onr (i still have a white eject button, which i'll swap when the warranty runs out). It looks okay.
