Should i replace PSU???

My brothers PC is a 4year old dell 8400
P4 @ 3.4
250Gb HD
1GB RAM
X800XT

The PSU's fan is running loudly and the fan seems to not be running constantly and be constantly rotating at low speeds. The PC is also shutting down when my brother plays games such as COD4 so i have cleaned the whole PC out from the dust.
Do i need to replace the PSU - or stick with the one he has?

Check the temperatures first, its oldish hardware, could be straining and just not able to cool itself. coretemp writes a log file, so if it crashes while youre running coretemp, you can look at what temp you were at when it crashed.

Those P4's do get hot. Anyway to add an extra case fan? Even a little airflow is better.

Not sure but don't Dell psu's have their own special connectors?
