Should I stick to the same brands & memory size when crossfiring?

I have a Saphire 4670 512MB and am thinking of buying another 4670 to crossfire. Should I try and get an exact same one or would I be better off getting a 1GB VTX card?

If you get a 1gb model you will still theoretically only be able to use 512mb. Branding does not matter, but if you buy one with lower or higher clockspeeds both cards will default to whichever card has the slower clocks.

I was wondering this also, if I crossfired my 5770 Vapor-X, with the Asus 5770, would it work fine seeing as the Vapor-X has a faster core clock ?
Edit: you answered the question thanks Xplo.

Thanks for that guys, when buying the Vapor-X that was the 1 issue that I was wondering about . I was unsure if 2xAsus would have been better, but as it is im loving the VX to bits, seems faster in some games than the standard cards also. Although the Asus in the mrs' old Athlon 64 X2 6000 is performing amazingly. 75fps average in Res 5 maxed out at 1920x1080 for example.
