Should i swap my E6300 for an E6600?

I have a [email protected] also without even really playing with anything bar the FSB - I think I should be able to get 3.4GHz + after I have burnt her in

to OP I wouldnt bother spending the extra £100 + to be honest, unless you encode regularly etc which may utilise the extra cache more readily you will hardly notice any difference. imo

I have the HZ PC6400, Your setup sounds good but I dont know much about the X1900GT but the little i have heard leads me to believe that the X1800XT is faster
 
My cpu should have been here today but for some reason UPS class where i live as a remote area so it will take an extra day. Strange that OCUK and others provide a next day service to where i live. Its probaby my own fault for not buying from ocuk but this place was over £20 cheaper :(
 
Thank you the X1800XT looks better when activate antialiasing and all the stuff, I will take the x1800XT,

Which PSU and Cooler do you have? do you think I'm going to have problems to archived 3.1-3.2ghz with the e6300 (Air cooled) in the DS4?

I changed my mind about hte DS3 and I will go for the DS4 instead and in 4 months buy another x1800XT to do crossfire, Do you think is a good idea?

Really cheap £20 akasa one from highstreet (thought I had ordered a retail cpu) have to say I am impressed with the fittings on the new boards - what does everyone else think? a lot less fidly than the clips on both sides imo, but just wonder how tight the fitting is

Dont know much about the ds4 tbh but i do know finding an X1800XT crossfire mastercard wont be easy and it will cost a fortune (like £400) so its not really a viable upgrade option. I have an Enermax liberty 620w and a skythe ninja

Thank you for open me the eyes, I will go fo the DS3 and forget abouth the crossfire, I thinking in buying the "Asus TA-210 Series Midi Tower (Black) - 360W PSU" Case, I don't have plan to overclock for a few months and them buy a good PSU and Overclock, Do you think I will be confortable with the 360W PSU that comes with the ASUS without OC?

No - because the DS4 doesn't support crossfire or SLI, only dual GFX for dual monitors etc.

Im not sure if thats an ATX 2.0 psu but it would be ok if it is although not my first choice
 
Thank you, I'm thinking in build a Home Theater PC I was lokking for a Small Case to put Near TV not big not expensive my new option is the "Silverstone Lascala SST-LC17 HTPC"

And im a bit dissapointed with it TBH so far its at 3ghz with 1.4v I cant get 3.2 just now my ds3 is behaving strangely with this cpu. Might put the 6300 back in :eek:
 
I've only been able to get my E6600 with DS4 to 3300 and thats with 1.4Vcore... Its already reaching 50C load.. Slightly disappointing when you've seing people with the stock cooler getting higher clocks.. :(
