Should I upgrade my AMD 7950 GPU?

I currently have an AMD HD 7950 3GB version and I was wondering if I should upgrade it to something more powerful within £220 range graphics cards

If it's doing what you want it to wait untill next gen, that jump in performance will be insane. If it isn't doing what you want as stated the 390 should give you probably about double the performance. I'm sitting on my 7950 for next gen myself.

I'm currently on a 280X (similar performance to OP), and I've decided I'd like to upgrade to 980ti performance. But not at 980ti prices :p

Thus for me the answer is next gen.

You just need to work out how much horsepower you want, and if you're prepared to pay the asking price of the current gen for that much horsepower. If not, wait. Simples.

Same here.

A 390 is tempting, but the next gen looks like being a big step. My 7950 still performs well in the few games that I play.

Same mate.. Sapphire 7950 Dual X (overclocked of course) been going good for 3 years and 3 months for me. Please just last a little longer! :)

Gona wait for AMD's next gen now.

An upgrade is definitely worth while, especially if you move to an Nvidia card.
You will get more bang for your buck and superior drivers with Nvidia.

Haha. My one died after a couple of months :D Still, it had been extensively fiddled with...
Still have it sitting on a shelf somewhere actually. Was sweet when it worked though.

Yeah i remember u fiddling around with it a lot, yer crazy sod lol Kept mine 'as is' with reasonable overclocks :)

I'm in a similar situation with a 7970 and could happily wait until the new cards are launched, if they launch pre summer 2016. Do we know when the first 'next generation' of graphics cards will launch?

I am still rocking my 7990 which I got for free from mining bitcoins a few years ago. Holding out for pascal here too although I've noticed the first few compatibility issues due to the age of the card. I tried to disable CSM for a full UEFI boot and my graphics card doesn't support it >.>
